DesireBorn Bound writes kink with you, not for you. Give it a starting idea, and it writes one section at a time - you steer after each one.

Free use, as an arrangement between people

The free use fantasy is a standing yes. One person has agreed, in advance and for as long as the arrangement holds, to be available whenever the other wants, wherever the story happens to be. Its charge comes from that prior agreement being taken completely at its word: no negotiation in the moment, because the negotiation already happened, and a scene can begin in the middle of breakfast or a phone call because it does not need a scene to begin. Readers who love the genre love the casualness of it, and the way ordinary life keeps going around it.

It is a fantasy that is easy to write badly. The bad version is a loop: an endless series of interchangeable encounters with no people in them. The good version is a relationship with an unusual rule, in which the rule keeps revealing something about the two of them, and in which what was agreed is remembered and matters. The moment she is not asked is only erotic because the reader knows exactly what she said when she was.

How DesireBorn Bound handles it

The engine writes power exchange as a subject, and free use is power exchange with the negotiation moved to the beginning. The arrangement is established on the page, explicitly between the characters or through a shared history the prose makes clear, and the story then lives inside it. The characters stay people with judgement: what she gets out of being available, what he gets out of not having to ask, and what either of them notices changing.

The story state is what keeps it from becoming a loop. DesireBorn plans first, with an ending in view and a beat for each section, then writes section by section and carries between sections what has been agreed, what has happened, which threads are open and what is being set up. Ordinary life is tracked too: the job, the flatmate, the dinner that gets interrupted. Free use fiction works best when the world keeps its shape around the arrangement, and the engine keeps the world.

After each section you steer or you do not. Move the story to somewhere public, introduce a rule to the rule, have one of them want to talk about it, or leave the field open and let the engine decide when and where the next scene arrives. Readers of this genre often prefer to be surprised, because being surprised is the point. Others want to write every interruption themselves.

Your terms

The special instructions field is where you set what the story may and may not do: where it is allowed to happen, what is off the table, whether anyone else ever knows. Those instructions go into every section and can be changed between them. The engine writes inside your terms. That is your preference, and it is separate from the one limit that belongs to nobody.

Themes from the catalogue

Power exchange first. Service and protocol, because a standing arrangement is a protocol; Negotiation and limits, the conversation before and how it changes what follows; consensual Degradation, if the story's language runs that way; and Aftercare, because the arrangement has evenings too.

An example

He came in from the garden with dirt on his hands and did not wash them, and she understood from the fact that he did not wash them what the next ten minutes were going to be. She kept slicing the onion. That was hers to decide, and she had decided it months ago, and the deciding was still the best part: that she could keep slicing, and that he knew she would.

Example. Generated for this page as a sample. It is not taken from anyone's story.

The one limit

An arrangement between adults, however casual, however far it goes, is fiction and fair game at whatever level of explicitness you set. Every character in a sexual context is an adult. That limit cannot be turned off, softened or configured, not by you and not by us. No shame. Not no limits.

Privacy

Your stories are encrypted at rest. We can read them to write them. Nobody else can read them. If a copy of our database were stolen, it would contain email addresses, the menu choices you ticked and some counts, and not a readable word of anyone's story. Deleting a story destroys its key with it.

DesireBorn Bound is free while we are testing. No card, no subscription. Set the arrangement in one line, and see how the day goes.
